The Under 9s football team produced an excellent display in the Tockington Manor annual 6-a-side football tournament, held on Saturday 17th March.
After drawing their first game 0-0 with tournament favourites (and eventual winners) Beaudesert ‘A’, the boys beat Beaudesert ‘C’ 3-0 and Beaudesert ‘B’ 5-0, before drawing with Wycliffe ‘A’ 0-0. In their last game, the Tockington boys comfortably beat Wycliffe ‘B’ 2-0, to ensure 2nd place. They were just pipped to top spot by Beaudesert ‘A’, who had managed a 1-0 win over Wycliffe ‘A’.
Out of the 10 goals they scored on the day, Alex Jacobi scored 7 of them and he and Alex Grocott were given joint ‘Players of the Tournament’ awards.
With the help of Julia Davey (our visiting ceramic artist) Pottery club members worked extremely hard on creating a collaborative ‘Owl’ masterpiece…..each pupil had their own piece of the puzzle to master and fit in to the final design. We will be proud to find a home for this in the school in due course.
Year 5 have recently been working on ‘Patterns in Nature’ Sculptures, inspired by British nature artist Andy Goldsworthy.
The examples shown here were created by Aditi Mehendale, Tom Edwards, Abi Blackwell, Olivia Campbell, Antonia Hopcraft, Jack Knight and Henry Allan-Jones.
