Years 3-5 Pantomime Trip & Workshop

Years 3, 4 and 5 went to the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham on Thursday 6th to see the pantomime, Dick Whittington. They had such fun watching all sorts of colourful characters and unlikely events. The costumes and sets were fantastic – we were taken by road from Gloucester to London, by ship and shipwreck to Morocco and we spent some time underwater with a lobster-cum-octopus of giant proportions. We booed and hissed at Queen Rat, laughed heartily at Tweedy from Gifford’s Circus, and sang songs which we had been taught the day before in our pre-pantomime workshop. The theatre is absolutely beautiful and we had a great time. If you haven’t been to see a pantomime lately, Cheltenham comes highly recommended. Thanks go to Mrs Gooch, Miss Chard, Mr Garbett and Miss Trickey for making the trip possible and to the Kitchen Staff for packing us up with handkerchiefs full of biscuits and drinks and for getting us through lunch early enough to leave at 12.30, as well as to Eurocoaches for getting us there and back safely.
The workshop the day before really got the children in the mood for the pantomime. Below are some photos and a video taken at the workshop…
