Hands on History in Year 4 as they learn about Aztec society and crafts…
We had a very successful and most enjoyable afternoon at Beaudesert Park last Saturday. It was great to see so many of our parents there to support us. They witnessed a series of super performances from our athletes.
The following children won their respective events: Ana Sanchez (U14 Shot Putt), Max Curtis (U12 800m), Alex Grocott (U12 800m, 2nd race), Hugo Watts (U12 100m, 2nd race), Roland Juilhard (U12 Long Jump) and Bennie Sanzo (U10 600m).
Bennie Sanzo and Ceredig Jones who came 1st and 2nd in the 600m were both inside Alex Grocott’s (2012) U10 school record. The record now stands at an impressive 2 minutes 04 seconds.
The highlight of the afternoon was the relays where our U11 team, Max Curtis, Tom Edwards, Oliver Shutt and Alex Grocott, won their race lowering the record to 1 minute 00.4 seconds. The U9 Boys were also victorious in their new school record which now stands at 1 minute 09.2 seconds. The team comprised Leonidas Lazarides, Angus Duncan, Ceredig Jones and Bennie Sanzo.
There were seven schools at this meeting including Prior Park and Clifton College. Our athletes show great promise for the future.
Year 5 worked hard on their data collection for their enquiry on the type and volume of traffic on Washingpool Hill Road on Friday 10th May.
115 vehicles passed us between 8.30 – 9.00am, as opposed to just 44 between 9.00 – 9.30am.
We discovered that the most common make of car was Ford, with 23 of the 131 cars that passed. 7 farm vehicles were recorded over the hour.
We are enjoying compiling our project.
