Celebrating Reading in the Holidays

Screen Shot 2014-05-09 at 21.44.13A HUGE thank you to all of the 44 children who took part in the Readathon sponsored read for the charities: Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, Clic Sargent and Together for Short Lives. You raised a record £817 for these charities. This is a phenomenal effort and we thank you all so much. We also hope that you have enjoyed the reading you have done – over 157 books read in all, with some children reading over 2000 pages during the holidays. I think you are all a great credit to this school and I know your money will be put to very good use in all three of the charities we have supported. You know that you and your families and friends have helped to make the lives of children who are unwell, and their families who support them. more comfortable and pleasurable. Well done!

Fun with Geckos!

Screen Shot 2014-05-09 at 21.34.44Year 3 and Year 7 had great fun meeting Jai and Roshan’s pet geckos on Monday. We all had great fun playing with Alex the Gecko and trying to spot Jumpy the Gecko, who was hiding in the leaves. We learned what they eat, where they come from and how to take care of them. We used all of the information we learned to write poems about geckos and draw pictures of them.
