Hello and welcome to the first issue this year, of Totally Tockington, the paper written BY students FOR students!
So far this term, it has been so busy with House Talent, House Hockey and House Rugby, we simply haven’t had enough time to make an issue every week. So this is the first issue of the year, the theme is Movies and we have plenty of amazing articles coming up for you!
The Tockingtonian, the official school magazine for academic year 2015-16, has been sent home with all of our families and mailed to OT’s on our database. If you would like to receive a copy please contact the school on 01454 613229.
We hope that you will enjoy this edition of The Tockingtonian.
FOTM Update, Autumn Term 2016
Welcome back to everyone after the long summer break and also a big welcome to all our new parents and children. Here at Tockington Manor, we are all friends of the school, but FOTM is an organisation is made up of a group of parents and teachers who organise social events throughout the year to help raise money for extra items to enhance the school life of the children who are lucky enough to be educated here. This term we have some wonderful events planned so come along and support us, catch up with friends and have fun all at the same time!
We start with our start of term social on Thursday 15th where all parents are invited to come and have a glass or two of wine and some cheese and have a catch up with friends or meet new ones! Then on November 11th we have our annual FOTM bonfire night between 4pm (for lower school disco) and 8pm – all current and past parents and children most welcome. Lastly, to round up events this term , on Saturday 26th November between 12 and 4 we have our popular Christmas Fayre with craft stalls, activities, food and Father Christmas!
All parents are very welcome to come along to any of our committee meetings too – the dates are published in the tracker and there are usually two main meetings a term.
If you would like to join us, help occasionally or have any queries about our events please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can phone me on 07505 011626.
Have a great term and I hope to meet as many of you as possible at various events.
This year we have had the pleasure of raising funds for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and are happy to announce that we went above and beyond our fundraising target, raising a fantastic £3,374.87!
We welcomed Dr Philip Cowburn to our Speech Day this year where he thanked us for all we did to help the Charity. John Christensen, Chief Executive also wrote to us to say:
“On behalf of everyone at GWAAC I would like to thank colleagues and students of Tockington Manor for working so hard throughout the year to raise funds to support our charity – the cheque in the sum of £3,374.87 is amazing and will be of huge benefit.”
